" Sir Walter Scott (15 August 1771 - 21 September 1832), was a Scottish historian, novelist, poet, and playwright. Many of his works remain classics of European and Scottish literature, notably the novels Ivanhoe (1819), Rob Roy (1817), Waverley (1814), Old Mortality (1816), The Heart of Mid-Lothian (1818), and The Bride of Lammermoor (1819), along with the narrative poems Marmion (1808) and The Lady of the Lake (1810). He had a major impact on European and American literature."

General wear to covers and spines as shown with some rub through, scuffing and minor damage. Tops of some outer spines damaged as shown. Binding is solid across all volumes with only the odd cluster sitting proud of the text block. Pages range from heavily age toned to quite remarkably bright! The front cover hinge on one volume has split but cover attached with an old glue job (picture shown). All in all there are a lot more clean pages than otherwise. Some creasing is evident. Books carry the stamp of St Johns College - Horsham and another elaborate signature with example shown. Likely original bindings. Overall we have a nice set of an early French pressing of Walter Scot's works in good condition overall. Please study photos to understand condition.

Approx Book Dimensions: 21cm x 13.5cm x 3.5cm (x 21 volumes) - 12.5kg Book Weight
